Watch Video: Installation of Ancestors, Mothers, Muses

Experience a walk through Ancestors, Mothers, Muses. This body of work includes dresses, poetry, image, sound and artwork. Viewers are invited to walk in and around the figures in designed environments. Many thanks to Oliver Prezant who filmed and edited this video. As an artist (composer and conductor, lecturer and educator) he created this beautiful tour of the installation as well as a glimpse into the process of making. He gave me a new view of this work.

Embedded with images, objects, and words, the dresses are intended to evoke facets of women’s lives. Each figure is a world of story, memory, landscape and dream. This work celebrates the power of women’s voices, experience and stories. Embodied aspects of women’s lives invite us to explore our own lives and the ways women contribute to the health of our world.
